Transit Date Set

Kijro will transit the canal on Tuesday and Wednesday of this coming week. We will spend Tuesday night in Gatun Lake and then finish the trip on Wednesday. You can follow this, possibly, at the Panama Canal site’s web cams. Not certain of the exact timing, though.

  1. Here’s the link to the Panama Canal’s web cams:

  2. Hi John – if you have some friends you can contact by text when you enter Miraflores (the 2nd 1/2 of the journey), there’s a very good view through the webcams there and folks can take some screen shots to email to you to post. The Gatun locks don’t have the best view and the boats pass through quickly due to the delay in the camera updates. One minute you’re there and the next – gone! Miraflores gives plenty of view and nice pix. Have fun!

  3. John,
We’ll try to catch your passage on the Webcams!

    fair winds,
    Mike

  4. I agree with Abby’s comments that it is much easier to take screen shots in the Miraflores locks. John says that Kijro will be on the outside of a raft of boats.
