Update on boat projects and week 2

Just after noon on Wednesday. Jason and Lara are off a trip to the Asa Wright Nature Center, followed by a visit to the Caroni Swamp. I’m sure that they will post on the day when they return. Both places are wonderful spots here in Trinidad. We continue to make slow progress on getting Kijro ready. The electricians are aboard today, trying to fit the solar panels and the KISS wind generator. But, as usual here, bits and pieces are either missing or not working. This means another day on the dock tomorrow. We are getting extremely efficient at un-mooring, docking, and mooring! The sails have been really promised for today, but they were promised for Monday & Tuesday also. It would be great to go for a sail finally on the boat. Lara cooked up a great shrimp (bought at the market on Saturday) dinner last night.

  1. I’m looking at Roger Neckles’s photo of a scarlet ibis that’s in the dining room cupboard and remembering our trip to T&T. I’m sure that Jason will enjoy their time at Asa Wright and Caroni. Hopefully, they will get to see the oil birds, too.

It sounds like KIJRO is slowly but surely getting ready for its ETD on February 18th. We check the blog every day to see how you’re doing.

  2. Shrimp from the America’s Taste Kitchen cookbook?!

    • Not sure where Lara got the recipe, but it was great! I made beef curry for dinner tonight.

    • Yes ma’am! Shout out to Allison for supplying me the recipe from afar. I have it saved on the computer now.
